Gravimetric Feeders & Blenders
At Plastrac, we are proud to provide you with blending and metering machinery that is designed to be precise and user-friendly, as well as save you money. Our gravimetric blenders utilize our innovative Auto-Disc™ feeder technology and can meter either pellets or granular bulk materials over a wide range of throughputs. The Auto-Disc™ feeders are easily interchangeable between configurations, and they are able to accommodate any feed disc. Our unique hopper system allows for fast color changes without the use of tools.
Currently, we offer six different series of gravimetric blenders for a variety of applications:
GF Series: Gravimetric Auto-Disc™ Flood-Fed Series
Features:
- Flood-fed primary resin
- Up to three metered ingredients (color, regrind, additives)
- Designed for injection molding, injection blow molding, or extrusion
GS Series: Gravimetric Auto-Disc™ Flood-Fed Side Mount Series
Features:
- Flood-fed primary resin
- Up to four metered ingredients
- Can configure with dryer or hopper
- Can accommodate larger hoppers or dryers
- Designed for injection molding, injection blow molding, or extrusion
GA Series: Gravimetric Auto-Disc™ All-Fed Series
Features:
- All-component feeder meters virgin color, regrind, and other additives
- Up to four metered ingredients
- Allows for online or offline blending
- Designed for injection molding, injection blow molding, extrusion, or set rate metering (starve-fed) for extrusion
PET Series: Gravimetric Auto-Disc™ PET Series
Features:
- Designed for specific needs of PET packaging industry
- Flood-fed primary resin
- Up to two metered ingredients
- Water-cooled feed tube
CS Series: Gravimetric Colorstream™ Series
Features:
- Designed for real time blending on the plant floor
- Cart-based blender able to be moved to different machines
- Sturdy mixer mounted to machine throat to support flood-fed primary resin
- Up to four metered ingredients
GA Cart Series: Gravimetric Auto-Disc™ All-Fed Series
Features:
- Allows for mobile continuous online blending or offline batch blending over a gaylord or barrel
- All component feeder meters virgin, color, regrind, and other additives
- Up to four metered ingredients
- Caster wheels allow blender to be mobile and move to different machines
